This investigation took place at Rockhurst University, a Jesuit institution located in Kansas City, Missouri. The students were first year science and mathematics students enrolled in Calculus I and Calculus II during the 1999-2000 school year.
	Rockhurst uses the reform calculus curriculum, Project CALC authored by David Smith and Lawrence Moore of Duke University. We use a variety of teaching methods designed to promote self-discovery of mathematical ideas in cooperation with other students. Calculus courses meet every day for fifty minutes in the math techonology laboratory pictured here.
