Last Day (3/13)

Today is entirely devoted to student presentations. About half the students were able to demonstrate solutions and they ranged over a diversity of problems, one used elementary number theory, another dealt with a recursion, still another involved number theory and used, repeatedly, the pigeonhole principle. There was a geometry problem using the pigeonhole principle. It was a good class closure. Over the course of the quarter every student presented at least once and nearly all two and even three times.

Overall I have been pleased with the conduct of the class. I definitely think the students gained new knowledge, learned techniques, have become stronger problem solvers and have enjoyed the process. I look forward to seeing how they do on the final.
