This page contains the various pages of the students work. These are scanned images of the graded student work for three students: Neal, John, and Jill

This first work shows us how Neal was functioning on proofs early in the class. At the start of the class, he came in and told me that he was very concerned about his grade since he had never understood this "proof stuff". Each page is worth 10 points, and on the problems that did not require a pure proof he did better than on those requiring proofs.

This second work (by John) shows one of the best pieces of work in the class. John came into the class writing well and doing very good work on proofs. For him the content material in the class was much more important than preparing for teaching. That said, he really wanted to learn some of the philosophy behind doing mathematics.

This last work by Jill shows what was relatively average for the class at the beginning. She is hard working, but she still has a lot of difficulty with the harder proofs. The conjectures are correct, but the students are still having a lot of trouble with notation and writing things carefully.
