What parts of my curriculum are not reflected in this site?

What’s not reflected in this site is the more traditional approaches that I employ in the classroom. Often, others see my teaching and wonder, “How can she do this all day?” I do, however, use some traditional teaching approaches in my classes, largely for the three reasons below.

1. To help students prepare for standardized tests.
2. To help students prepare for work with other, more traditional teaching approaches they will encounter.
3. To reinforce a vocabulary that is more representative of what appears in math textbooks.
   
   I want my students to be ready to function in any math class they may take in the future. When I do use a lecture-style approach, I usually keep it pretty short. If you are interested in that part of my teaching, you might find it in my first two weeks of teaching.
