At the end of the year I invited each of my students to bring his or her parents and siblings to my home for a visit and family conference.  During Stephen’s conference, he  began to tell his mom and dad about our most recent word problem in class.   I pulled out his papers so that he could show them his work.  He  was so articulate that I stopped him after a minute or so, ran inside to get my camera, asked him to start over, and filmed his explanation.
