The Paired Course Model

These configurations link two courses through a shared cohort of students and a common theme. Instructors usually team-teach, making significant connections between the courses through readings, assignments, and activities.


ASSET Development

The ASSET Development Learning Community pairs a Mathematics course,Elementary Algebra, with a Career course, Strategies for Educational Success. This learning community has been offered every semester since Fall, 2002.


Writing in the End Zone I and II

Writing in the End Zone links an English course, Basic Composition and Reading, and PE/Fitness courses. This learning community has been offered each semester since Fall, 2004.




Keys to the Kingdom

This learning community pairs an English course, Basic Composition and Reading, with College Success, a Career course. Keys to the Kingdom will be offered for the first time in Fall, 2006.


My United States of ... Whatever

My United States of ... Whatever is a learning community consisting of Contemporary Social and Moral Issues, a Philosophy course and an English course, Composition and Reading. This learning community was offered every semester from Fall, 2004 to Spring, 2006.




Social Justice? Understanding Problems and Solutions in the New Millennium

Social Justice pairs Introduction to Sociology with Composition and Reading, an English course. This learning community has been offered every semester since Fall, 2004.


Contemporary American Topics

Contemporary American Topics links two ESL courses: Writing for Non-Native Speakers and Conversation for Non-Native Speakers. The learning community will be offered for the first time in Fall, 2006.




Tools for Thought: Using Math and English to Explore Contemporary Issues

Tools for Thought pairs Intermediate Algebra, a Mathematics course with the English course Composition and Reading. The learning community has been offered every Fall Semester since Fall, 2003.
