Bill's audio reflection on his work

(a note about authorship)

During the whole class discussion and debriefing session, I asked students to explain their work and pose a last question--why do students who learned RT still have good comprehension even after they no longer use RT in the classroom.

My summary of class discussion

This segment was very tedious (almost painful). Students had a hard time with it. Only a handful spoke (contrasted with all the talking going on in the small groups, hmmm).

Continue

1) The first to speak talks about how the RT skills have become internalized (I labeled his suggestion Hypothesis #1). This is a pretty common response--you practice RT and now you do it on your own.

She talks about connecting new knowledge to one's knowledge base, etc. She speaks several times and has something interesting each time.

This student brings up the concept of mental management (i.e., metacognition). BINGO.
