The program has had a dramatic impact on the lives of students. I have never gotten as much positive feedback from any other class or program that I have taught. It now attracts over 130 students per year and I started with 19 in the program. We have added additional classes: a magazine journalism class, a broadcast journalism class and we will be adding an online journalism class next year. Most of my students say that the program has given them amazing self-confidence, the ability to think critically, to write and speak effectively, to work on a team effectively, and to organize their work schedules. I have many students who come back year after year to tell me what they are doing and how much they appreciate the program. Students in the program also feel extremely positive about the experience, which is why they stay with the program for two years.
